Itinerary: Meet at Elanda Point canoe launching area’s car park. On arrival you are given your equipment for the day, then down to the kayak launch site and we settle you into your expedition sea kayak, teaching you all the basic skills for an enjoyable paddle across the Lake Cootharaba to Kinaba. Stop for deliciously catered picnic lunch at Fig Tree Point, the tour continues into the Upper Noosa River, through the section known as ‘the Narrows or River of Mirrors’. Here the river narrows and the water of the Noosa River is so still that it reflects everything it sees, just like a mirror! You can sometimes paddle all the way to the iconic Harry’s Hut, where you can enjoy a refreshing swim beside the old fisherman’s hut. On the journey home, if the wind is blowing in a favourable direction, there is a chance to put sails onto the kayaks and sail the crossing of Lake Cootharaba, back to the launch site.
