About Us – Kanu Kapers

Kanu Kapers Australia, established in 2002, is a family-owned and operated business with a rich history shaped by World Champion kayaker Vivienne Golding. Vivienne’s extensive experience and deep connection to the Noosa Everglades laid the foundation for the company’s commitment to providing unforgettable outdoor adventures in Noosa. In 2024, local adventurer Kris Bullen, who had founded a successful Sunshine Coast adventure business in 2018, became the proud owner of Kanu Kapers, continuing to honour the company’s legacy while driving it into the future.

We offer a diverse range of activities including kayaking, abseiling, rock climbing, hiking, kayak fishing and training. Our mission is to provide unique experiences that inspire a love and respect for nature, while preserving the stunning Noosa Everglades for future generations. The Noosa Everglades, one of the world’s most pristine wetlands, is teeming with rare plants and wildlife. To minimize impact on this delicate ecosystem, we’ve custom-designed our sea kayaks with long water lines and rudders, allowing you to explore the full Everglades system under your own power with minimum impact on the environment. The sounds of your paddle gliding through the water and the bird songs will accompany you on your journey through this tranquil paradise.

Based in Boreen Point on the Noosa River, Kanu Kapers is located on the Northern side of the Noosa Shire and its sun-drenched beaches, a renowned destination for outdoor adventures. Our locally handcrafted kayaks, professional eco-guides, and fresh, locally sourced food are all part of the experience we offer.

Our full day and multi day tours depart from the Elanda Point, Great Sandy National Park Noosa Everglades Kayak and Canoe Launch area. We’re proud to have been recognized as the Best Eco Tour in Australia and New Zealand in 2018 and 2019. As part of our commitment to sustainability, we’ve partnered with Plastic Free Noosa to eliminate all single-use plastics from our tours and maintain Advanced Eco Accreditation.

Guests can also choose to offset their carbon footprint by contributing to our partner, Queensland Koala Crusaders when booking their tours, which works to build local wildlife corridors. We ensure that no chemicals are used in our business, and we have a robust recycling program that includes containers for change, scrunchy plastics and composting for fruit and veggie scraps.

Our team consists of highly skilled outdoor facilitators, each an expert in their field, whether it’s kayaking, white-water rafting, training, abseiling, rock climbing or hiking, ensuring that every guest has a safe, enriching, and enjoyable adventure.
